Forticlient VPN Only Installer: A Step-by-Step Guide

Are you looking to install Forticlient VPN only on your Windows system? If so, this article will guide you through the process of installing and configuring Forticlient VPN.

To start the installation, simply click 'Install' and follow the prompts. We recommend keeping the pre-filled path unless you have a specific location in mind. You will then be asked to choose an installation directory. Please note that we provide Sophos Antivirus for added security, but avoid using the 'Complete' option as it may cause issues with other antivirus software.

Once you've chosen your installation directory, select the VPN components you want to install. For a VPN-only setup, the 'VPN Only' option is sufficient. After this, the setup wizard will automatically start.

Read and accept the license agreement by checking the box on the left-hand side of the page. Forticlient is designed specifically for VPN use only, so make sure you understand these terms before proceeding.

Next, the FortiGate installer will reload relevant data from the internet (an internet connection is required). After downloading the installer, run it with a double click and answer any security prompts with 'yes.'

If you're interested in using an antivirus program, Sophos Antivirus is available on campus. However, please note that these programs are not licensed or supported by our computing center.

Important: The VPN-only variant of Forticlient is offered, and not the full-fledged version. This means it does not include additional components like virus scanners.
